About Asterwise
Asterwise is an astrology, numerology and tarot API for developers, built by Asterwise Labs Private Limited in Haryana, India. This page says who we are, what we publish so you can check our numbers, and where to find us.
One API, two zodiacs
118 endpoints for sidereal Vedic and tropical Western astrology, numerology, tarot and panchanga, plus 103 MCP tools for AI clients.
Checked against NASA
80 positions compared with JPL Horizons: median 0.046″, 79 of 80 within half an arcsecond. Data and script published.
Same input, same answer
The engine is deterministic and API responses are HMAC-signed, so a chart can be reproduced and verified by anyone who holds the inputs.
Numbers you can audit
Prices per call, endpoint counts generated from the OpenAPI document, and vendor comparisons with a source on every row and a public corrections log.
What Asterwise is
Asterwise is a REST API at api.asterwise.com that computes astrology from birth data and returns structured JSON: Vedic natal charts with a choice of ayanamsa, all sixteen divisional charts, five-level Vimshottari Dasha, yogas, doshas, kundli matching with Rajju and Vedha applied as vetoes, panchanga and muhurta, KP and Lal Kitab, Western natal charts, synastry, transits and progressions, and numerology and tarot alongside. The same calculations are exposed to AI assistants through a remote MCP server at mcp.asterwise.com, and to application code through Python and TypeScript SDKs generated from the OpenAPI document.
It is built for matrimony and matchmaking platforms that need Vedic compatibility scoring, astrology apps that need a dependable ephemeris, and AI products that need real charts instead of guessed ones. Every plan, including the free Sandbox tier, includes every endpoint.
What we publish so you can check us
An astrology API asks you to trust numbers you cannot easily recompute, so we publish the material needed to check them:
- Accuracy against NASA JPL Horizons: 80 tropical longitudes from 1950 to 2050, with the raw JSON and the comparison script.
- Reference chart proof: a full natal, Western and panchanga run cross-checked against an independent Swiss Ephemeris installation, with the birth data to reproduce it.
- Comparisons with 7 other astrology APIs: every row cites the vendor page it was read from, competitor strengths are stated, and corrections are logged publicly with a date.
- Pricing with a per-1,000-call figure for every tier, and an OpenAPI document from which the endpoint count on this site is generated.
- The MCP server source on GitHub, and a Postman collection of all 118 requests.
If a number on this site is wrong, write to [email protected]. Corrections to the comparison pages are checked within five business days and recorded on the page.
How the engine works
Planetary positions come from the Swiss Ephemeris. Sidereal calls take the ayanamsa as a parameter (Lahiri by default, with Raman and KP available). Vedic charts return both rasi and bhava chalit house positions; Western natal charts offer Placidus, Koch, Equal and Whole Sign houses. Interpretation fields follow classical Jyotish method and are returned as structured data rather than prose, so your product decides how to present them.
The same inputs always return the same result. Responses are signed with HMAC so you can confirm a result came from Asterwise unaltered, and repeat calculations are served from a 30-day cache that is never linked to a person. Details of data handling are on the security page.
