Facts about RoxyAPI were read from its own pages on 7 September 2026; every row in the full table below carries its source, and the page ends with how to report an error.
The short answer
RoxyAPI puts 18 domains, 258 endpoints and 255+ MCP tools on one flat plan with no credit weighting, and publishes a NASA JPL Horizons benchmark with data and script. It has no free plan, no Dashakoot, Rajju or Vedha, no Lal Kitab or Varshaphal, and runs its own engine rather than Swiss Ephemeris. Asterwise has a permanent free tier, the deeper Vedic matchmaking set, and a median deviation against the same JPL reference of 0.046 arcseconds to RoxyAPI's 1.5.
What you can verify before you write a line of code
An astrology API is a promise about astronomy, coverage and price. The fastest way to compare two of them is to ask what each lets you check in advance.
| Can you check this before signing up? | Asterwise | RoxyAPI |
|---|---|---|
| The exact price of a call | Yes. $10 ÷ 10 = $1.00; $30 ÷ 50 = $0.60; $100 ÷ 300 = $0.33. | ₹59.98 or $0.78 (Starter); ₹20.00 (Professional, ₹9,999 for 500,000); ₹8.33 (Business, ₹24,999 for 3,000,000); one request is one quota unit on REST and MCP |
| What computes the positions | Yes. Swiss Ephemeris with the full data files. | "Roxy Ephemeris", described by the vendor as an in-house engine using "analytical planetary theory"; the vendor states it does not use Swiss Ephemeris |
| How accurate the positions are | Yes: 80 positions checked against NASA JPL Horizons, median 0.046 arcseconds, raw data and script published. | Yes: 210 positions across 21 charts (1879 to 2011) against NASA JPL Horizons DE441, run 2026-07-30: median 1.5 arcseconds, 95th percentile 11.2, maximum 16.6; data and Python script published (MIT) |
| The full API contract | Yes, public at api.asterwise.com/openapi.json. | Yes, OpenAPI 3.1 at roxyapi.com/openapi.json (licence marked Proprietary) |
| Try it without paying | Yes. 500 calls a month, no card, does not expire. | No free API plan published; four paid tiers only. The vendor's FAQs say "No credit card required for testing" and that the interactive API reference returns real responses; a keyless API call returned HTTP 401 on the date checked. A keyless docs-only MCP server exists |
Where a cell says not published, it means we could not find the fact on the vendor's pages on 7 September 2026. It is not a claim that the fact is bad, only that you cannot check it before you build.

How to read the prices
Where a vendor publishes both a monthly price and a monthly call quota, the price per 1,000 calls is the first divided by the second, and the arithmetic is shown under the row. Where a vendor sells credits that cost different amounts per endpoint, or publishes no quota, no per-call price is given, because none can be derived.
How this page stays honest
Every statement about another vendor on this page is a statement about what that vendor's public pages said on the date shown, not a statement about the quality of its calculations or its service. Where a page did not say, the row reads not published, and that means only that we could not find it. Vendors change prices and features; verify anything that matters to you on the vendor's own page before you decide.
Report an error. Email support@asterwise.com with the row, the correct fact and a public page that shows it. We check it within five business days, change the row, and record the change in the corrections log on this page with the date.
